Bezel
The bezel of the Mark I is counting up from 0 to 60. 10, 20, 30, 40, and 60 is written in bigger number than the 5min steps. Every minute has a dash as indicator. The Bezel itself is made of aluminum with a black surface and numbers in silver.

In the ad above you see a different bezel without the 5 Min marks. This is the same bezel as for the Sherpa Dive. Despite to the fact that we see this combination in the ad, I doubt that it found its way into “mass-production”. My first owner Aqua Graph MKIa came with the typical AG style bezel and after some research me and some other collectors came to the point, that this ad-bezel is also a bit to small to fit correctly. More on that topic you can find here: Early Aqua Graph bezel mystery

At 12 o’clock you will find a vertical trapez borderd by two tritium lume spots.
The bezel is freely turning without clicks.
Red Ring
Made of red eloxed aluminum the tip of the ring is formed like a triangle. The ring is freely turning from the bezel.

Dial
The reference 072/002 comes with a complete black dial or with silver subs. The Enicar logo is small (smaller than on later references!) and applied.
Hands
The hands are similar to the early Sherpa Graph’s.
Minute and hour hand are formed like a paddle (paddle style) and are very common for Enicar watches of the beginning and mid 60’s. They are unpainted with rectangle tritium lume and an orange tip. The orange tip is longer on this reference than on later ones.
Paddle hand comparison long vs. short
The second hand is mainly unpainted with a lollipop lume spot right before the tip. On the early ones, there are also “Daytona” style spearhands known.
Aqua Graph MK Ia second hand variation
The subdial hands are long and unpainted, the 12 hour and 30min counter have the shape of an arrow. Later Aqua Graph MK Ia has the arrwo hand just in the 12hour counter.

Two different Sub dial hand combinatons are known for the MK Ia
Crown
Since the Aqua Graph was meant to be a diving watch you will find the waffle compressor crown with Enicar saturn on it.
